Overview of Fellowship
Goals and Objectives
- provide the EMS/Disaster fellow with the fundamentals of prehospital and hospital emergency management
- provide the EMS/Disaster fellow with the fundamentals of Emergency Medical Services direction and management
- provide the EMS/Disaster fellow with opportunities of professional growth within the field

o Education
o Conferences
- provide the EMS/Disaster fellow with an advanced degree
Curriculum Highlights
This 2 year fellowship based at the George Washington University will provide the fellow with the following experiences
- participation in city, regional, state, and national level emergency management planning
- George Washington University Hospital
- participation in Emergency Medical Services direction
- Arlington Fire/EMS
- EMeRG
- Fairfax City EMS
- Helicopter Unit
- participation in ongoing Disaster/EMS/Remote Medical Access educational activities
- participation in ongoing Disaster/EMS research, as well as initiating fellow directed research
- participation in development and delivery of Tactical and Military Medical educational projects
- leadership and participation in development and delivery of large scale mass gathering events
- optional participation in nationally organized response teams
- completion of a Masters level degree within emergency management
- opportunities in international Disaster/EMS development and educational activities
- continuing medical education budget for conference participation
- clinical work at one of the hospitals being staffed by the organization
- Salary TBD
- 1 fellow per academic year (July to June)
- 2 year fellowship

Requirements and Contact Information
Fellows accepted into the program must be board eligible or board certified in Emergency Medicine.
