EM Chief Resident Wins ACEP CPC Competition

Congratulations to Karla Lacayo, MD chief resident, who won the national Emergency Medicine CPC competition at the ACEP meeting in Seattle October 8. Karla presented a case of an unusual presentation of fulminant clostridial gangrene and sepsis occurring after an obstetrical procedure. The CPC competition is sponsored by EMRA and SAEM. About 120 residents around the country submit cases and 50 are selected for presentation at the SAEM meeting in the Spring. Six are selected for the final competition at
ACEP in the Fall.

Congratulations Karla!
